Our group represented four counties in Maryland -- Charles, Dorchester, Frederick, and Montgomery. Frederick County uses TLC's circulation system, while the other three counties utilize Destiny. Step-by-step instructions for both systems are provided. Helpful tutorials are included for the TLC procedures below.

TLC Circulation System Instructions


Logging onto TLC Circulation System

● Turn on the computer at the circulation desk. Enter the username and password provided. Double check that the domain is correct. Click OK.

● Go to Start menu and click on the Application menu.

● Go to the folder that says “Media Administration” and select the icon for “Circulation.”

● Enter the circulation password and click Logon.

Check-In Procedures

● Click on the tab on the left-hand side that says “check-in.”

● Scan the school’s barcode on the item. Make sure the screen registers the material.

● Place the checked-in material on the cart behind the circulation desk to shelve later.

Check-Out Procedures

● Scan the barcode on the student ID card or look up the student by their last name to pull up their borrower record.

●.The student’s borrower record will appear on the screen.

● Scan the barcode on the item and make sure the item registers on the screen. Make sure you scan the school’s barcode label, not the one from the publisher.

● Renew items, when requested, while in the borrower’s record. A student does not need to have the material in their possession to renew it.

Request to Reserve A Book

● Pull up the student record (by scanning the ID or searching on by last name).

● Click on the “Request” Tab and type in the title of the request.

● Click Search to locate the title.

● Click Place Request.

● Student will be notified when the item is available.


Destiny Circulation System Instructions


Logging onto Destiny Circulation System


● Turn on the computer and log-on using the user name and password provided.

● Log-on to the Destiny Browser using the user name and password provided.

Check-In Procedures


● Click on the “Check In” tab on the left-hand side of the page. Scan the barcode on the material.

● Return the material to the cart to shelve at a later time.

Check-Out Procedures


● Click on the “Circulation” tab, which is how you will access student information.

● Scan the barcode on the student ID card or look up the student by their last name to pull up their borrower record.

● Scan the barcode on the material to check it out. It will appear on the student’s record. Make sure you scan the school’s barcode label, not the one from the publisher.

● Renew items when requested while in the borrower’s record. A student does not need to have the material in their possession to renew it.
